So I was pulled over…

It is wild to me when we get pulled over how much our hearts race. This protector of the highway was up to something… He followed me for at least a quarter of a mile, then he decided to turn on the lights (all of this happened at night mind you). He told me I had a light out, it was for my license plate (a state law here in Missouri). I had to go sit in His car, as I did he proceeded to ask me questions.

The questions consisted of… Is this your car? who is in the vehicle with you? do you have any felonies? Have you ever had a ticket? do you still live in M? what brought you to P.B.? and the questions kept coming. Finally after about 15 mins I got the all clear…

I think I must of fit the profile of someone that they were looking for. To many times we do this to people.  We decide that we will interrogate them and try to find out if they are the right match for what we are looking for. We have these motives to benefit ourselves. We are not really looking for someone to get to know or develop a friendship with… we have an agenda.

There was a show on TV the other day called ” Conveyor Belt of Love on ABC”. In this show there were 5 girls that were looking for love. As the conveyor belt moved, men would appear. Then the women would tell weather they were interested in the men or not. There was one blond woman, in-particular, that chose this wine connoisseur that was some what portly and goofy. All the other women chose guys that would of been “more attractive” than the wine man. What was so great about this show was, the one blond woman dropped her presuppositions which allowing her to find a man that she was truly interested in and she was able to go on a date with him.

Instead of living where we are in constant question toward people… Why dont we start throwing away our presuppositions and truly sit down to find out who someone is…

until next time…
